The feeling of unity      Michele Satta Loc. Vigna Al Cavaliere 61 57022 Castagneto Carducci (LI)

Since the beginning, our labels have portrayed this beautiful print by  Antelami. The Middle Ages culture placed the images of mans’-work on the churches’ doors and this illustrates how deeply the faith in God and reality were bound. The man is at the core of the image, the  contact with the material, his hand that touches the grape and the richness of the terroir are the signs of the ancient dignity of our work.

Even for us today the meaning of tools for manual work is linked to art.

Evening of Bolgheri

Oh evening so gently
Evening, that the middle January
Spreads on the sleeping hills
As a mother the thin
Veil over the cradle,
You wait for sunset
To dress up in pink
And dance among stars and streets lamps
Around the house that darkens,
Oh! You find me so defenceless,
And as in this silky moment
You bite me and leave me far away..

Dear Michele,
You cannot realize how great my friendship is for you and your family. Thank you for who you are, for your words and for your wines. I compare your faith in God with that which I hold for Lucrezio, in the natural flow of energy and life. I embrace you and those you love.

P.S.: I am looking forward to hearing the wonderful music of the Satta Family – I will book in advance - during my next visit to Castagneto.

Art at the cellar
A series of appointments that have become by now a tradition. Within music, poetry and visual art we meet others and ourselves. As Don Giussani said: “within music, the natural landscape, during the night dream (as Leopardi wrote in his “Nocturnal Lyric”), the human being pays his respect to something else, to whom he’s waiting for: he waits for Him. When the human being “fore-bodes” this, he immediately bonds his soul and waits for something else: even in front of what he can obtain, he waits for something else; he grasps what he can, but he waits for something else.
